Special Projects

One of the aims of the Club is to bring women together and help them integrate into the local community. To facilitate this, the Club is associated with a number of local and international organisations and special interest groups. The Club supports a specific charity, selected annually, and works with other committees and organisations both within and outside the Club. The Board of ZIWC urges any member wishing to become involved in any of these charities and organisations to step forward.

Our Charity Committee coordinates all our fund-raising efforts: in 2005-2006, the Club supported the Grace Kennett Foundation, based in India; in 2006-2007, our fundraising was on behalf of the Sinobome Foundation in South Africa, and in 2007-2008 we supported the Ear Surgery Camps Foundation in Nepal. During 2009 and 2010, we raised money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and this year we are supporting Krebsliga Zug.

The Library Committee works to support the English language section of Zug Public Library and organises the Club’s annual book sale. As a Club, we are collective members of the Frauenzentrale Zug and Open Door, both of which offer support to women in the home and on the move.
